Pandora (NYSE: P ) has been a rock star lately.
Before taking a breather on Wednesday during the abridged trading day ahead of the Independence Day holiday, shares of the leading music streaming service had closed higher for eight consecutive sessions.
You don't see that happen very often, and the 31% surge in those eight trading days is remarkable since it came shortly after Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL ) made iTunes Radio official.
There's no denying that Apple is gunning for Pandora's more than 70 million active listeners. The consumer tech giant's platform will offer free ad-based streaming with limited skips just like Pandora. Apple's premium ad-free platform will even be cheaper than the $36 a year Pandora One subscriptions.
However, Apple's arrival has somehow turned some analysts into Pandora bulls.
Morgan Stanley's Scott Devitt upgraded his view on Netflix -- going from equal weight to iverweight -- suggesting that Apple's arrival may actually benefit Pandora by getting more traditional radio advertisers to earmark more of their marketing dollars for digital broadcasts.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By John Divine]
Rates, rates, rates. The very fear that interest rates had reached their trough sent them through the roof last week, and today's sluggish market was caused in part by related concerns from the Orient. The Chinese stock market fell more than 6% today, officially crossing into bear market territory as investors worry that record-high money market rates in China will cause a cash squeeze. Wall Street took notice, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJINDICES: ^DJI ) lost 139 points, or 0.9%, to end at 14,659. Bank of America (NYSE: BAC ) stock ended as the largest blue-chip decliner.

What started as a whimper with a single Midwestern state's decision to allow interstate banking, quickly transformed into the same roar that can be heard today. Multiple states rushed to follow Iowa's lead throughout the 1970s. Alaska, Maine, and Arizona were early adopters, and New York soon followed suit. The trend gained momentum during the 1980s with the introduction of regional banking compacts, which were fueled, in large part, by a U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding their constitutionality. This gave way to the Riegle-Neal Interstate Banking and Branching Act of 1994, which removed all federal impediments to interstate banking and ignited a series of "mergers among equals" that gave us the banking behemoths we know today, including Bank of America (NYSE: BAC ) and Wells Fargo (NYSE: WFC ) . And the final piece of the puzzle, the crowning achievement if you will, was the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999, which made it possible for the likes of JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM ) and Citigroup (NYSE: C ) to take on their present forms.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Tyler Crowe]
But to focus simply on renewables for distributed power would do some other parts of the industry a disservice, because companies such as Capstone Turbine (NASDAQ: CPST ) are proving that localized generation of natural gas can be just as efficient as a big centralized utility plant. This one-two punch of renewable power as the primary energy source with localized natural gas generation as a backup for when solar or wind can't generate power could be a big threat to the utilities sector.
- [By Tyler Crowe]
What:Shares of Capstone Turbine (NASDAQ: CPST ) skyrocketed 13.59% as the company announced that it had signed a major supplier deal with private real estate and investment firm Related Companies. Shares of Capstone haven't been this high in over a year.

We initiated a new position in Aircastle Ltd. (AYR), an aircraft leasing company with a flexible business model and a rational capital allocation philosophy. We took advantage of an opportunity to purchase shares in the heavily capitalized Georgia bank State Bank Financial Corp. (STBZ) as the depressed stock price reflected investorslack of patience with a slower than expected pace of capital deployment. We like State Bank management team led by Georgia banker Joe Evans. This management team has experience successfully building and selling other Georgia banks. We also received shares of transportation infrastructure company XPO Logistics, Inc. (XPO) as a result of its acquisition of holding Pacer International, Inc.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Peter Stephens]
Developments at pharmaceutical peers
Of course, animal health is also a key market for Merck (NYSE: MRK ) . It announced last week that marketing authorization has been granted by the European Commission for the veterinary medicinal product, Bravecto. This is positive news for Merck, since Bravecto is the first and only treatment that has been shown to quickly and effectively kill fleas and ticks for up to 12 weeks in a single dose. - [By Keith Speights]
When you look at how Zoetis' rivals are doing, the company looks pretty good. Eli Lilly's (NYSE: LLY ) animal health unit, Elanco, increased sales by only 2% last quarter compared to the previous year. Merck's (NYSE: MRK ) animal health business grew by 4% year-over-year -- but still less than Zoetis.
- [By Brian Orelli]
Part of the benefit came from a competitor's supply issue that has been resolved. Pfizer didn't say which competitor it was, but we can guess it probably wasn't Merck (NYSE: MRK ) ; sales of its animal health division were up 4% at constant currency, and the company cited "strong performance in companion animal products" as part of the reason for the increase. Elanco, Eli Lilly's (NYSE: LLY ) animal health division, didn't do quite as well, with sales up just 2%, but the slow growth seems to mostly be due to animal food productsthat don't compete with Zoetis. The other two big players in the animal health space -- Bayerand Sanofi-- haven't reported yet.

I currently own shares of Pfizer (PFE), Abbott Labs (ABT) and Eli Lilly (LLY) in addition to Merck (MRK), so I tread a little gingerly when considering adding either more shares of Merck or a new position in Bristol Myers Squibb (BMY), while I keep an eye of the need to remain diversified. Both of those, however, have traded well in their current price range and offer the kind of premium, dividend opportunity and liquidity that I like to see when considering covered call related purchases. As with Baxter, in the case of Merck I might consider selling September options because of the upcoming dividend.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Muhammad Bazil]
Though GE Capital has been a huge source of revenue for the parent company, its earnings aren always seen in the light of income from industrial activities leading to how it has been cheaply perceived among its peers. For example, among GE peers in the industrial sector like Honeywell International (HON), United Technologies (UTX), Illinois Tool Works (ITW) and Emerson Electric (EMR), only Illinois Tool Works is cheaper than GE, but it is miles apart in growth potential when compared with GE. So, GE stock trades at a huge discount relative to all of its industrial peers except ITW which is rather odd all because of GE Capital. Though GE Capital has been contributing about 30% of GE earnings and, hence, a good percentage of its earnings per share (EPS), shedding GE Capital is the only way to make the industrial segments of GE to strive for better growth in the near future to make up for the original earnings growth of GE facilitated by GE Capital.
